Issues Surrounding Effective Reading and Writing

There are so many issues surrounding the effective teaching of reading and writing. Many of these issues are circumstantial issues, so issues that occur due to diversity within classrooms. Issues could include emotional, cultural, engagement, challenge, motivation, support or academic. All of these issues can provide a barrier, where there could be a learning difficulty in children being able to read. As teachers, striving to become effective teachers of reading and writing, we need to critique work related to the curriculum to cater for children with some of these issues. Another issue, within becoming an effective teacher of reading and writing, is the altering changes in how children learn. Some children are spatial learners, some are visual learners and others can be logical learners. All of these different types of learners play a part in having issues with being an effective teacher of reading and writing. Different types of learners is an issue which effects students and teachers right throughout Primary School and Middle School. The key to being able to overcome these issues is continually changing up strategies, catering for different background needs and for different learning abilities.
